Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing web and mobile applications, identifying defects, validating application functionality, and ensuring that products meet business and quality requirements before release.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to understand application requirements.
• Create, review, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test checklists.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, exploratory, and usability testing.
• Perform end-to-end testing of web, mobile, and responsive applications.
• Test applications across different browsers, operating systems, devices, and screen resolutions.
• Identify, document, and track bugs with clear steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, severity, and supporting screenshots/videos.
• Re-test resolved defects and perform regression testing to ensure fixes have not introduced new issues.
• Validate complete user workflows and business processes across different user roles and permissions.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand and resolve issues.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback from a quality and usability perspective.
• Maintain test documentation and provide regular testing status and defect reports.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman when required.
• Perform basic database validation using SQL queries when required.
• Verify data consistency between frontend, backend, APIs, and databases.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release validation activities.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, testing strategies, and overall product quality.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Good knowledge of manual testing methodologies and QA processes.
• Experience writing effective test cases and test scenarios.
• Strong defect reporting and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of severity vs. priority and defect life cycle.
• Experience testing web and mobile applications.
• Knowledge of browser/device compatibility and responsive testing.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar tools.
• Basic knowledge of API testing and Postman.
• Basic understanding of SQL/database testing.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience testing applications with multiple user roles and complex workflows.
• Knowledge of API response validation, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON.
• Understanding of mobile-specific testing, including permissions, notifications, network conditions, installation/update, and app lifecycle testing.
• Basic understanding of automation testing concepts is an advantage.
• Experience with cross-platform testing on iOS, Android, Windows, and major web browsers.

Experience

0–2 years: Junior Manual QA Tester
2–4 years: Manual QA Engineer / QA Analyst
4+ years: Senior Manual QA Engineer

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
